Eibar will celebrate its first Xacobean Medieval Fair from October 30 to November 1 in Unzaga square. The event will offer a medieval market, music, workshops, and fire shows.

The Casa de Galicia-As Burgas de Eibar and Timbapirata Events are presenting a new three-day initiative aimed at all audiences. The fair will combine the atmosphere of a medieval market with traditional Galician culture, music, and street entertainment, aiming to provide a different experience for residents and visitors.
Throughout the three days, the market will feature continuous workshops, exhibitions, and performances. Attendees can expect to encounter fantasy characters, itinerant musicians, storytellers, and theatrical proposals. Planned activities include demonstrations by a wandering armorer, showcasing how infantry knights and mercenaries were dressed, as well as stories from Amalurra and appearances by characters like Gzarkuk, the organ grinder of Sevastopol, and various fantasy-inspired figures.
Eibar's mayor, Jon Iraola, highlighted the importance of adding new initiatives to the city's cultural agenda: «We want Eibar to continue being a vibrant city, with proposals that allow us to enjoy our streets in a different way and also attract visitors from other places. This first Xacobean Medieval Fair is an opportunity to have family activities, learn about other traditions, and create an atmosphere in our city».
For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Andoni Zabala, emphasized the work of the organizing entities and the variety of the program: «The collaboration between Casa de Galicia-As Burgas de Eibar and Timbapirata Events allows us to launch an innovative proposal for our city. For three days, there will be activities for different ages, from workshops and storytelling to live music and street performances. We want citizens to come, participate, and enjoy this first edition».
The fair will kick off on Friday, October 30, at 11:00 AM with the opening of the market. Half an hour later, the exhibitions will open, and from 12:00 PM, the demonstrative workshops will begin. The afternoon will feature performances by groups such as Céltika, Grus Grus, and Artimaña, along with storytellers, itinerant music, and characters roaming the market. The day will conclude with «El susurro de las llamas», a fire show by Grus Grus and Artimaña, and a large popular 'queimada' accompanied by Céltika, scheduled for 10:00 PM.
Saturday, October 31, will feature the «Os Galaicos» pilgrim parade, organized by the Casa de Galicia de Eibar, with participation from market members and animation groups. At 11:00 AM, the inaugural proclamation will be held by the Casa de Galicia and Amalurra, coinciding with the opening of the market, workshops, exhibitions, and the play area. Throughout the day, there will be musical performances, storytelling, and medieval ambiance scenes, with acts like Baom and the elf Cuca, the wandering armorer, and appearances by Céltika and Ramalleira. Galician culture will once again take center stage in the afternoon with itinerant music and dance performances. The day will conclude with another performance of the fire show «El susurro de las llamas» at 9:15 PM, followed by the popular 'queimada' at 10:00 PM.
On Sunday, November 1, the market will open its doors at 11:00 AM for a final day of activities. The itinerant music and dances of Os Galaicos will be featured alongside storytellers, performances by Céltika, and appearances by various characters. In the afternoon, entertainment will continue with new musical and theatrical offerings before the final fire show at 8:15 PM. The market will officially close at 9:00 PM.
With this first Xacobean Medieval Fair, Eibar adds a new event to its autumn cultural program. The initiative, organized by the Casa de Galicia-As Burgas de Eibar and Timbapirata Events, will bring together music, tradition, family activities, and outdoor shows over three days, with a special emphasis on Galician culture and the medieval imagination.
