The Eibar City Council has extended the registration deadline for the citizen participation initiative "Auzoak Martxan / Impulsa tu barrio" until October 12, focusing on identifying neighborhood needs and challenges.

The Eibar City Council has extended the registration deadline for the "Auzoak Martxan / Impulsa tu barrio" initiative until October 12, originally set to end today, October 7. This program will enable residents from six areas of Eibar to identify their neighborhoods' needs and challenges and develop concrete improvement proposals.
Interested individuals can register via the form available on the municipal website (www.eibar.eus): https://formularioak.eibar.eus/eu/auzoakmartxan. Places for each session are limited to ensure the proper development of the participatory dynamic.
In the form, participants can select the session corresponding to their area and indicate priority topics for their neighborhood, including mobility and accessibility, citizen coexistence, communication with the Council, children and youth, economy, sports, procedures and formalities, culture, Basque language, urban planning and environment, security and traffic, and equality.
The sessions will take place between October 14 and 29, featuring a dynamic and participatory format with various working groups where attendees can share experiences, identify key challenges in each zone, and collaboratively develop action proposals.
The planned schedule is as follows: Centro-Legarre (October 14, 6:30 PM, Errebal building), Errebal-Jardiñeta (October 21, 6:30 PM, Errebal building), Amaña (October 22, 6:00 PM, Amaña school), Ipurua (October 27, 6:00 PM, former market square building), Urki (October 28, 6:00 PM, Urki Arrateko Andra Mari school), and Urkizu (October 29, 6:00 PM, Urkizu school).
The City Council will allocate a total of 420,000 euros to this initiative, distributed as 70,000 euros for each of the six participating zones, aiming to fund actions and projects arising from the participatory process that are technically, economically, and legally viable.
"Auzoak Martxan / Impulsa tu barrio" aims to move towards a participatory model where citizens not only convey their needs to the Council but also collaborate on concrete proposals to address the identified challenges in each area.
During the sessions, participants will identify positive aspects of their neighborhoods and areas needing improvement. Subsequently, through group work dynamics, key challenges will be defined and prioritized, and action proposals will be developed.
The resulting proposals will be forwarded to the relevant municipal technical services for analysis of their technical, economic, and legal feasibility. Viable proposals will proceed to a later phase of online citizen voting, where residents can prioritize the actions they deem most important for their area.
This process seeks to ensure that citizen contributions have a concrete path, from identification and development in participatory sessions to technical analysis and subsequent citizen prioritization, for potential inclusion in the 2027 Municipal Budgets.
The City Council encourages residents of the six participating zones to take advantage of the extended deadline and join "Auzoak Martxan / Impulsa tu barrio", an initiative designed to strengthen citizen participation and foster a more direct, collaborative, and transparent relationship with the neighborhoods.
