Xabier Ibarzabal noted that an investment of 19 million euros was made to move all services from a smaller area of 2,500 square meters to a new infrastructure spanning 7,972 square meters. Three floors plus the ground floor will be utilized.
They particularly highlighted the integration of home hospitalization and mental health services with others in the new building. Previously, mental health care was located in a residential building, and the new location, in addition to more space, will serve to normalize and increase its visibility.
Furthermore, there will be space for another gynecologist, and ultrasound scans will be performed in Laudio. They also mentioned that the number of specialty consultations will increase, as more children and young people are being treated in this area.
According to the representatives, the number of doctors and nurses will double due to the increased number of rooms and improvements in women's care. Previously, there was only one room for multiple specialties, and now more will be available.
In addition to the building's physical improvements (more space, vinyl flooring, air conditioning, photovoltaic panels), they emphasized the introduction of new dental equipment. Each floor will have administrative staff for reception.
The new health center will provide Primary Care to 24,600 people, and 41,700 citizens will have access to outpatient care and consultations there.
