The Laudio City Council has officially inaugurated the new market, replacing the old Abasto Plaza, with the goal of strengthening local trade and the primary sector.

The new market in Laudio, named Azoka Plaza, has officially opened its doors following a project conceived in the previous term and initiated in May 2024. Overcoming funding challenges and issues with the temporary infrastructure, the new market provides an adapted space for the three vendors from the previous square, with two additional stalls: a second fishmonger and a stall for the Ekintza association.
The Laudio City Council has emphasized that this project reaffirms its commitment to promoting the primary sector, local trade, and proximity consumption. The presence of the Ekintza association, which brings together local agroecological producers, is a significant novelty, and their products will now be available directly in Laudio.

"With this project, we aim to strengthen the primary sector, local trade, and proximity consumption, reinforcing our economy and our identity. At the same time, the renovated space will offer an opportunity to value the work of local producers and foster relationships between citizens and producers, uniting commerce, gastronomy, and the primary sector."
