The txosna areas in Amurrio and three of the four txosnas located outside the park have joined the proposal from the Aiaraldea Euskalgintza Council, making commitments to promote the Basque language during the festivities. Mendiko Lagunak, Gazte karpa, Etxerat, the Amurrioko Eragileen txosna, the txosna of the Kuxkumendi mountain bike club, and the solidarity txosna of the association Ezina Ekinez Egina, located in the square, have undertaken these commitments.
The starting point will be to ensure at least one Basque speaker is present in all shifts, that all information is provided in Basque, and that more than half of the music played through the speakers is in Basque. From this basis, the Council proposes to follow the Linguistic Criteria for Txosnas and the Best Practices Guide, offering practical recommendations to the various stakeholders.
This year, Ezina Ekinez Egina and the club Kuxkumendi BT have set up a txosna for the first time, and both have accepted the proposal. Additionally, the Eragileen Txosna will also be new, with participation from Kuadrillek, Amurrio Harro, SOS Aiaraldea, the Amurrio Women's Network, the Amurrio Music Lovers Association, and AIEKE. Thus, with only one exception, the town's txosnas have joined the initiative.
This campaign is complemented by the commitments made by 12 bars in Amurrio, and the Popular Festivals Movement has also joined the initiative, using the Basque Language Semaphore.
