The Amurrio City Council has categorized the audit requested by EH Bildu for municipal accounts as part of a "political initiative," arguing that the demand does not address a "technical need."

The governing team, comprising the PNV and PSE parties, stated in a press release that the city council's control and fiscalization mechanisms operate "normally." The council aims to "contextualize" EH Bildu's proposal, which calls for an external inspection of contracts made over the past five years, by explaining the "usual functioning" of its oversight mechanisms.
Regarding the objections raised by the comptroller concerning 2025 activities, the council clarified that the main concern relates to the reorganization of the cleaning service. This service was decided to be carried out through INDESA, an entity that hires people with disabilities, aiming for a public model with a "greater social component." According to the council, "this process has required transitional solutions to guarantee the continuity of the service while the model change was being completed, and this objection is situated in that context."
Furthermore, they recalled that the Basque Public Accounts Tribunal recently audited the council as part of "usual procedures." The council finds it "striking" that "debates occurring in other municipalities are brought to Amurrio, instead of focusing on the specific reality of our city council."
