The tenth edition of the Artziniega Concert Series, organized by the Mendieta Kultura association, will commence on June 13 and run until July 10, featuring five performances aimed at bringing classical music to a wider audience.

The Artziniega Concert Series is celebrating its tenth edition this year, scheduled to take place from June 13 to July 10. Organized by the Mendieta Kultura association, this initiative will offer a total of five performances at the Santuario de la Encina and the Convento de las Madres Agustinas, with the aim of making classical music more accessible to the public.
The inaugural concert on June 13 will feature Hugo Bolívar (countertenor), Belisana Ruiz (plucked string), and Marc de la Linde (viola da gamba), presenting their Ad Lucem proposal. Following this, on June 20, Isabel Villanueva will perform on the viola, and on June 27, Cantoría will offer Jubilate.
In July, on the 4th, the Dúo Asaba will perform the Oinatzak program, and the series will conclude on July 10 with a performance by the Moser String Quartet. All concerts are scheduled for 8:00 PM.
The series was established in 2017 with the intention of providing a program of musical excellence to the local community and attracting individuals from across the region interested in culture, music, and heritage. The Mendieta Kultura association operates under principles of diversity, innovation, and inclusivity, openly addressing the current challenges within the classical music sector. They also strive to promote the visibility and recovery of the legacy of women composers, with a gender focus being an integral part of the association's identity, which is composed exclusively of women.
The venues chosen for the concerts also add significant historical value: the Santuario de la Encina, with its impressive Hispano-Flemish altarpiece from the early 16th century, and the courtyard of the Convento de las Madres Agustinas, an intimate space typically closed to the public. Tickets and season passes are available through the association's website.
