This event, organized by Aixerrotape Txirrindulari Elkartea, aims to combine sport and solidarity to promote and make visible sports practice among women. The tour is not merely a competition; the idea is to build community and encourage women to get on their bikes, regardless of their skill level.
“"It will be a great opportunity to pedal together, leaving fears aside and enjoying a safe environment."
Furthermore, they emphasize that the bicycle is an excellent tool to advocate for freedom and health. April 26, the day of the 1937 bombing, which is very special for the people of Gernika, will serve to demonstrate that together, they are stronger.
The route will be dynamic and accessible, covering 56.5 kilometers with a total positive elevation gain of 750 meters. The ride will start at 09:00 AM at the Mercurio fountain in Gernika, passing through Gautegiz Arteaga, Laida, Laga, Ibarrangelu, Ereño, Nabarniz, Arratzu, and Mendata, before returning to Gernika-Lumo. To refuel, a traditional hamaiketako will be offered in the town of Ereño.
There is no registration deadline, as it is an open gathering for women who love cycling. A good atmosphere, health, and a friendly challenge will be the main features of this unforgettable morning.
