The fair served as a meeting point for the Basque agri-food sector, bringing together producers, artisans, and visitors.
A central moment of the day was the traditional charity cheese auction. The second-prize cheese was sold for 800 euros to Zurekin Bus, while the winning cheese fetched 4,200 euros from Taberna Eguzki in Bermeo. The proceeds will go to the Fundación Residencia Calzada de Gernika-Lumo.
In the cheese competition, Azkarra secured first prize, followed by Ricardo Remiro in second and Mausitxa in third. The awards ceremony also recognized outstanding producers in various fair categories.
In the honey category, Baskones Eztia took first prize. For txakoli, awards went to Erdikoetxe (red and black varieties) and Magalarte Zamudio (white).
For garden produce, the prize was awarded to Bihotz Atxatu Baserria, and in the fruit category, to Urtza Sarrionandia. In flowers and plants, the award went to Ortuberri.
The awards highlight the variety and quality of the agricultural and livestock production present at the fair.
With nearly 110,000 attendees and an auction that once again combined tradition and solidarity, the Last Monday of October concludes another edition, valuing the work of producers and the commitment of those who help keep this event alive in Gernika-Lumo.
