This collaborative workspace, organized by the Department of Security, gathered approximately forty institutional, social, and economic agents from the municipalities of the Busturialdea-Urdaibai region, including Ajangiz, Arratzu, Bermeo, Busturia, Ea, Elantxobe, Ereño, Errigoiti, Forua, Gautegiz-Arteaga, Gernika-Lumo, Ibarrangelu, Kortezubi, Mendata, Mundaka, Murueta, Muxika, Nabarniz, Morga, and Sukarrieta.
Representatives from the Basque Government's Department of Security, the Bizkaia Provincial Council, and local town councils participated, alongside agents from the Ertzaintza and local police forces, civil protection, firefighters, Osakidetza, trade and hospitality associations, educational centers, retirees, and sports clubs.
During the meeting, diagnoses and proposals were collected through participatory dynamics, aimed at strengthening cooperation between administrations and involved agents. The objective is to improve the joint response to current and future security challenges, such as emergency management, the impact of climate change, citizen security, cybercrime, violence against women, and drug trafficking and consumption.
This marked the twenty-fourth meeting of the Basque Segurtasun Foroa, following previous gatherings in regions such as Urola Garaia, Uribe Kosta, Urola Erdia, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Ibaizabal, Bidasoa, Mungialdea, Goierri, Debagoiena, Meatzaldea, Rioja and Montaña Alavesa, Oarsoaldea, Bilbao, Aiaraldea, Urola Kosta, Lea-Artibai, Ezkerraldea, Debabarrena, Enkarterri, Araba, and Gipuzkoa.
