Man Arrested for Stealing a Dozen Mobile Phones from Santurtzi Football Pitch

The Ertzaintza arrested a 30-year-old man yesterday at Mamariga metro station in Santurtzi, who had minutes earlier stolen a dozen mobile phones and various other items from a changing room at the San Juan neighborhood's football pitch.

The detainee, of Maghrebi origin, is the alleged perpetrator of a theft that occurred at the San Juan neighborhood's football pitch in Santurtzi. The incident took place while players were training, a situation the suspect exploited to gain access to the changing rooms. From there, he stole twelve mobile phones, three transport cards, two wallets, and a pair of headphones.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, Ertzaintza officers launched an operation to locate the suspect. Thanks to a description provided by a witness, who saw the man entering and leaving a changing room with a backpack, he was found near Mamariga metro station. He was then arrested for an alleged theft offense.
After being taken to police headquarters, investigations confirmed that the detainee had a criminal record. Subsequently, he was handed over to judicial authorities to proceed with the corresponding legal process.
