This project centers on the concept of "secret," broadly understood as unexpressed thoughts, silently kept memories, or untold stories, whether real or imagined. The goal is to draw an invisible map of Leioa's inner life, bringing to light the emotions and experiences of its inhabitants.
The participation period will be open from April 7 to 27, and all citizens over 18 years old can submit their texts, in both Basque and Spanish. Narratives should not exceed 500 words. A key feature of the initiative is anonymity, as stories will be signed with a pseudonym, ensuring a free and safe space for expression.
Texts must be sent in digital format to 500urte@leioa.eus, divided into two files: one with the story (title, pseudonym, and text) and another with the author's contact details. The jury will award three prizes: a first prize of 400 euros, a second of 250 euros, and a third of 150 euros. Additionally, the jury may grant special mentions if deemed appropriate.
This experience aims to create an intimate atmosphere for carefully listening to each story, transforming the individual into the collective.
One of the most special moments of the initiative will be on May 29, with the public reading called Reading Light Sekretua. In a unique scenic format, selected texts will be read, respecting the anonymity of the authors. Furthermore, the chosen narratives will be compiled into a collective publication, forming the Leioa Secret Archive and establishing it as heritage within the context of the 500th anniversary. To conclude the initiative, a gathering will be organized for participants and attendees to share in a relaxed atmosphere.
