The Bilbao City Council has detailed that traffic limitations will be concentrated on the access roads and routes around Artxanda, primarily affecting the Enekuri-Artxanda (BI-3741) road, the axis connecting Artxanda with Santo Domingo, and the road linking Ibarsusi with Santo Domingo (BI-631). These sections will be closed on Thursday, April 9, approximately between 3:00 PM and 5:10 PM.
Drivers are advised to plan their journeys in advance or avoid these areas during the two hours the cyclists pass through. The operation will be supported by the Municipal Police and event staff, who will mark closures and assist road users, enabling alternative detours. Public transport may also experience temporary route changes, so residents in the city's upper areas are encouraged to check for last-minute updates and use alternatives like the Artxanda Funicular.
Furthermore, Balmaseda will also experience traffic restrictions on Wednesday, April 8, from 1:30 PM until the stage concludes. The Balmaseda City Council has announced that access points from Zalla via the BI-636 road, from Villasana near La Baluga, and from Antuñano will be affected. Buses will not be able to circulate on the BI-636, so using the train is recommended for accessing the town.
In Galdakao, parking restrictions will be implemented. From 12:00 PM this Wednesday, parking will be prohibited in the rotating car park in front of the Galdakao City Hall, as well as on Juan Bautista Uriarte street, the Elexalde neighborhood, and Lapurdi and Euskadi streets. Additionally, from 7:00 AM this Thursday, Lapurdi and Euskadi streets in Galdakao will remain closed to traffic, with only garage access permitted and team buses parked in the Lapurdi car park.
