The Biscayan group El Reno Renardo, known for blending heavy metal sounds with humor and social satire, has announced the initial dates for their twentieth-anniversary tour, coinciding with the release of a new album.

The band has confirmed two performances in Bilbao: the first will be on May 10, with free admission, as part of the Zurbaranbarri neighborhood festivities. The official album presentation concert for their new record, Queso fresco, queso curao (Maldito Records), is scheduled for August 23 at Kafe Antzokia, within the Aste Nagusia program, with tickets already on sale.
El Reno Renardo was formed in 2006 by Jevo as a side project, with the sole intention of having fun by combining heavy metal with humor. After self-releasing their first two albums anonymously and achieving success, the project solidified into a band in 2009.
The group has released eight albums and has become a social media phenomenon, accumulating nearly 15 million views on their official Youtube channel alone. Their songs are available on all digital platforms through an agreement with the Maldito Records label.

We do what we want, period.

El Reno Renardo has always advocated for doing things their own way. The Biscayan quartet, who have composed over 150 songs and profited from their live performances, reflects on their 20-year journey. Since Jevo started 'fooling around' with a guitar, they have filled venues, performed at major festivals, and surpassed 50,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
They recently released their tenth studio album, Queso fresco, queso curao (Maldito Records), which features a mix of new and revamped older tracks. The Bilbao-based musicians describe the album, now available on all platforms, as “as powerful as expired Roquefort cheese”.
The new album includes 14 songs, such as Sonda anal, Yisuscraist, No quiero ir al gym, Tonto del pueblo, Amamos la birra, Toroturadores, and Vomito. In these tracks, the band explores classic and traditional heavy metal, continuing to mock everything and everyone by delving into topics like politics, sex, football, religion, bullfighting, the far-right, denialism, and excessive body worship. They have also included a version of Mecano's Allí me colé, with modified lyrics and keyboards adapted to their playful style.
