This program, following six previous calls, reflects a notable advancement in the digital maturity of the business fabric. According to the study Digital Transformation in Bizkaia Companies 2025, prepared by the Bizkaia Innovation Observatory, 92.3% of companies in the territory already use one or more digital technologies.
The new call is structured into two lines of aid: one for basic digitalization projects and another for advanced digitalization projects. In this way, the Bizkaia Provincial Council aims to respond to the different realities and levels of technological maturity of SMEs, facilitating their progress in digital transformation progressively and effectively.
“"This change of stage reflects that what Bizkaia's business fabric needs is to promote a leap towards solutions of greater complexity, integration, and impact."
The basic digitalization line is aimed at companies with between 5 and 50 employees, and the subsidy can only be obtained once every four years to prioritize projects that represent a significant leap in business digitalization. The advanced digitalization line, aimed at companies with between 5 and 250 people, raises the maximum eligible amount to 120,000 euros, including external and internal expenses and investments associated with the project.
The application period for the basic digitalization line will be open from May 4 to June 12 of this year, while that for the advanced digitalization line will also open on May 4 and close on May 22. In 2025, the program supported 236 projects, demonstrating the usefulness of this tool and the need to continue strengthening these public supports.
