A fire broke out at the Gardelegi landfill in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Wednesday afternoon, requiring four individuals to be treated for smoke inhalation.

A significant fire erupted on Wednesday afternoon at the municipal landfill in Gardelegi, Vitoria-Gasteiz. As a result of this incident, four people required medical attention in the area due to smoke inhalation.
According to the municipality of the Alava capital, the fire prompted firefighters from Vitoria-Gasteiz to request reinforcements from the Autonomous Body of Provincial Firefighters of Alava to extinguish the flames. They warned that the process could take "quite some time".
However, it was emphasized that there is no risk of the fire, which started around 5:00 PM, spreading to the forest area.
Due to the resulting smoke plume, four individuals received treatment in the vicinity for smoke inhalation. Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

"It is recommended to avoid outdoor activities in the gazteiztarras mountains, especially in the area near the Puerto de Vitoria, as long as smoke is present."
