The Gipuzkoa Provincial Council will carry out resurfacing works on the AP-8 highway section between Elgoibar and Mendaro this weekend, which will impact traffic.

Following milling operations conducted in early May, the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council has announced that this weekend the section of the AP-8 highway between Elgoibar and Mendaro will be asphalted. These works will lead to several traffic modifications.
Specifically, from 4:00 PM on Saturday, a bypass will be created between kilometer points 64.700 and 61.000, diverting traffic heading towards Behobia onto the platform for traffic heading towards Bilbao. Furthermore, from 3:00 PM, the entry to the AP-8 in the direction of Behobia will be closed, and from 3:30 PM, the exit will also be closed.
Bidegi explained that, "if everything proceeds as planned, the exit will reopen on Sunday at 4:00 AM, while the entry will remain closed until the bypass is completed, around 2:00 PM." They also noted that "the established times for these resurfacing works are approximate."
During the construction period, users traveling towards Behobia will need to use the entrances and exits at Eibar and Itziar to make the necessary connections.
