Aitor Agirre Crowned Basque Champion in Elite Category at Spring Classic

The cyclist from Zumaia completed the 112-kilometer course in two hours and 43 minutes, in a race decided on the Muniketa and Autzagane mountain passes.

Aitor Agirre, the cyclist from Zumaia, has been crowned the Basque champion in the elite category at the Spring Classic, following a demanding race that was decided on the mountain passes near Zornotza.

Aitor Agirre put in a tremendous effort at today's Spring Classic, and his hard work paid off as he was named the elite Basque champion. The cyclist from Zumaia completed the approximately 112-kilometer course in a time of two hours, 43 minutes, and 59 seconds.
The race featured both elite and under-23 category cyclists. In the latter, Aimar Alarcia proved to be the fastest, emerging as a promising talent in the sport.
Regarding the overall classification, Mikel Uncilla from Navarre secured the first position, with Alarcia finishing second and Gabriel Ibañez completing the podium in third place. The race traversed several mountain passes around Zornotza, with the final outcome being determined on the last two ascents: the Muniketa and Autzagane passes.
