Vitoria-Gasteiz's Plaza de la Virgen Blanca hosts «Zubia», an outdoor photography exhibition by Donostia-born photographer Javi Julio, featuring 22 images on the migratory route of the Bidasoa River border, on view until May 9.

The exhibition highlights the crossing of the Bidasoa as a border where origin or skin color can unequally shape the experience of those attempting to cross. The photographs capture the reality of this migratory route and the experiences of the people traversing it.
The program linked to the exhibition will commence on Monday, April 13. On this day, at 11:30 AM, Javi Julio will offer a guided tour of the exhibition alongside Alpha Keita, one of the individuals featured in the images. This activity will also mark the opening of a new edition of the «En el Foco» conferences, titled this year «Resisting in a Wounded World».

Javi Julio is a documentary photographer and filmmaker. Born in Donostia in 1978 and residing in Irún, he has been developing long-term documentary projects for over a decade, while collaborating with media outlets such as The Guardian, El País, 5W, Euronews, and Gara.

The free conferences will take place at the Europa Congress Palace. The series will begin on April 13 at 7:00 PM with the lecture «Humanitarian Catastrophe in Gaza», delivered by Aitor Zabalgogeazkoa, emergency coordinator for Doctors Without Borders. On April 14, also at 7:00 PM, Ignacio Álvarez-Ossorio will present «The Future of Gaza and the Reconfiguration of the Middle East». The following day, April 15, Ane Irazabal will analyze Europe's response to the conflict at the same time.
The program will continue on April 22 at 6:30 PM with a discussion on women's struggles in the Middle East, featuring Razan Malash and Ryma Sheermohammadi, in a session moderated by Mikel Reparaz. The cycle will conclude on April 23 at 6:30 PM with Nuria Tesón, senior correspondent in the Middle East, who will deliver the lecture «From Gaza to Iran: Geopolitics and Violence Against Women».
In addition to the conferences, the program includes a film forum at Florida Cinemas. This will be held on Thursday, April 16, at 5:30 PM, and will focus on the film Faisaien Irla, which explores the reality of the Bidasoa border.
