The Ertzaintza carried out an operation in Irun on Saturday night, resulting in the arrest of a 14-year-old minor for a violent robbery, with two others under investigation. Furthermore, a 19-year-old was arrested for the theft of a mobile phone.

The incidents occurred at 10:00 PM on Saturday, when the Ertzaintza received a report that a group had approached other young people and a robbery had taken place. According to official sources, one person snatched a mobile phone from a girl, while a second young person, after struggling with another girl, stole an electric scooter, which they handed over to two other individuals who then fled the scene with the vehicle.
Upon the arrival of the first patrol, the victim of the phone theft pointed out the perpetrator to the officers, who was also attempting to leave the scene. After a brief attempt to escape, the suspect was apprehended and detained by relatives of the victim who were nearby. After identifying the 19-year-old, he was arrested for a crime of theft. Subsequently, the mobile device was recovered and returned to its 14-year-old owner.
During the course of the operation, the sister of the second victim appeared with the scooter, which had been returned by a friend of the robbers. Minutes later, another police unit located the alleged perpetrators of this second incident nearby. The 14-year-old who struggled and snatched the scooter was arrested for a crime of violent robbery. The other two minors involved, aged 14 and 17, were investigated.
The 14-year-old robbery victim had to be treated at a health center. The minors involved have since been released, awaiting summons by judicial authorities. The adult arrested remains in police custody and will be brought before judicial authorities once procedures are completed.
