The operation will involve 26 reinforcement officers, Civil Protection personnel, and two sub-officers who will coordinate the deployment and police actions on the ground, in addition to the regular daily service. Their work will focus on traffic diversions and regulation, route protection, and addressing any incidents that may occur.
The Advanced Command Post, located at the Local Police Station, will include the presence of the Chief Commissioner and a first officer of the Local Police, representatives from the Ertzaintza, a representative from the emergency services, and the emergency technician from the Irun City Council. This post will monitor the race and coordinate responses to potential incidents, maintaining constant communication with the teams deployed on the street.
The municipal video surveillance system will provide real-time images from various points in the city, facilitating route supervision and support for the teams involved in the operation. Additionally, as a new feature, the Local Police will have a larger volume of images at the Advanced Command Post. Through the ‘Fresh Control’ tool, images captured by the municipal officers' devices will be projected directly onto the control desk screen. These will be supplemented by real-time images from the organization's drone, as well as the ETB signal, allowing for a broader and more complete view of the event's development and improving the coordination of security services.
The Irun City Council thanks the public for their cooperation and reminds everyone of the importance of respecting traffic diversions, temporary signage, and the instructions of the personnel participating in the operation. The collaboration of all individuals will contribute to the safe running of the event.
