Man Arrested in Irun with 10 Kilos of Marijuana Heading to France

The Civil Guard has apprehended a 33-year-old man on the AP-1 near Irun for transporting a significant amount of marijuana in a vehicle bound for France.

The Civil Guard arrested a 33-year-old man on April 4 in Irun, on the AP-1, after he was caught transporting 10 kilos of marijuana in a vehicle traveling towards France.

The incident occurred on April 4 at 05:45 AM, when the vehicle was intercepted at exit 0 of the AP-1. The driver attempted to evade a control point set up in the direction of Biriatu, prompting the intervention of Civil Guard agents.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, officers discovered a package wrapped in colorful material in the trunk. Inside, there were several transparent plastic bags containing the 10 kilograms of marijuana.
The arrested individual, who had previous records for similar offenses, was charged with a crime against public health. He was subsequently handed over to the courts in Irun for further legal proceedings.
