The Irun City Council has announced that improvement works will be carried out on the plane trees of Santiago Street this Wednesday, July 15th, to combat the 'plane tree tiger' pest.

The Irun City Council, through its Gardening service, has informed that on Wednesday, July 15th, improvement works will be conducted on the plane trees located on Santiago Street. The company responsible for these tasks will be Tecnatura, which will apply a potassium soap-based treatment.
The objective of this intervention is to combat the pest known as the 'plane tree tiger' (Corythuca ciliata), which exclusively affects the trees and poses no risk to people. The planned treatment, in line with the city's general tree management, does not use chemical products. It is completely harmless to both people and the trees themselves, and causes no damage to vehicles or urban furniture.
