The Irun City Council, through the Social Welfare department, informs that the Elitxu-Lapice neighborhood will have a new animation service for its senior residents starting this Monday, November 2. The activities will take place at the neighborhood association's facilities (Avenida Euskal Herria, 23-25) on Mondays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM (excluding holidays, June 29, September 8, and December 24 and 31).
This new service becomes operational after the Irun City Council signed the new contract for the animation service in Irun's Senior Spaces last Friday, October 30, with a new company, Emocional Technologies 22, S.L. This new space in Elitxu-Lapice is added to the usual service provided in recent years.
Another significant change is that, in addition to group intervention through workshops and special activities, individual intervention will be reinforced in the mornings with spaces for active listening and individual guidance (by appointment) and community intervention, working in networks with local entities and resources to support the social connection of seniors in each neighborhood.
This has necessitated adapting the schedules for these interventions; therefore, these are the new hours in the city's Senior Spaces:
- The Anaka-Puiana, Behobia, Palmera Montero, and San Miguel locations will be open Monday to Friday from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Mondays and Thursdays from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, excluding holidays, as well as June 29, September 8, and December 24 and 31.
- The Lekaenea, Luis Mariano, and Elitxu-Lapice locations will be open on Mondays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM, excluding holidays, as well as June 29, September 8, and December 24 and 31.
- The Belaskoenea, Iraso, and Ventas locations will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Thursdays from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, excluding holidays, as well as June 29, September 8, and December 24 and 31.

With the addition of Elitxu-Lapice to the city's network of Senior Spaces, there are now a total of ten locations (Anaka-Puiana, Behobia, Belaskoenea, Iraso, Lekaenea, Luis Mariano, Palmera Montero, San Miguel, Ventas, and Elitxu-Lapice itself) dedicated to activities aimed at promoting the activity and socialization of this group.
