The mayor explained that the municipal auditor raised an objection to the May payroll, which led the mayor's office to lift the objection to ensure staff received their salaries promptly. The issue was resolved within two days.
The situation arose following a court order requiring the council to hire a new employee. According to the mayor, coordination meetings held to implement this order did not identify the need for specific fiscal oversight, leading to the administrative delay.
“"Se ha actuado de manera más rápida imposible."
Opposition parties, PNV and PSE-EE, urged the council to prevent similar occurrences in the future. They expressed concern over recurring issues with departmental reports and management, emphasizing that such administrative problems should not impact the salaries of municipal workers and council members.
