The Santiagotxo neighborhood in Hondarribia will celebrate its local festivities from Friday to Sunday. The events will kick off on Friday with an exhibition of old photographs and a discussion at 5:30 PM in the City Council premises. In the evening, at 8:00 PM, the film 'El agente topo' will be screened by the Papillon cinema club.
On Saturday, Santiago Day, txistularis will play an alborada through the neighborhood streets in the morning. At 10:00 AM, a mass will be held at the Santiagotxo hermitage, followed by the distribution of broth and txistorra to the neighborhood's elders at 10:45 AM. From 10:30 AM onwards, Ekhine Zapiain, Agin Laburu, Mattin, Loreak, and Irene will perform a bertso-triki-poteo, followed by a toka championship.
A neighborhood lunch will take place at the Ballestanea restaurant. In the afternoon, attendees can enjoy a performance by the band Txintxarri (5:00 PM) and a DJ set.
On Sunday, the final day of the festivities, rural sports for both young people and adults will be held at 10:30 AM. Simultaneously, there will be bouncy castles and the opportunity to ride on ponies at the association's premises until 1:30 PM. To conclude, a youth handball championship will be played at the neighborhood's fronton from 12:30 PM onwards.
Additionally, the Cultural Association of the Muliate neighborhood will launch its summer cinema cycle this Friday. At 10:20 PM, the film 'Cuñados' will be screened in the neighborhood square, in Spanish. On August 14th, the second outdoor screening will feature the Basque film 'Tersa eta Galtzagorri', and the final screening will be on August 21st with 'Leo eta Lou'.
