“"We want to bring the emotion of a historic final to different municipalities in the territory and make sure this day is experienced in a shared, open, and close way. We want the final not to be limited to those who can travel to the stadium or the city where it is played, but for all of Gipuzkoa to have the opportunity to feel it, celebrate it, and live it collectively."

Hondarribia has joined other Gipuzkoan towns in organizing fan zones and giant screens to broadcast the King's Cup final between Real Sociedad and Atlético de Madrid on April 18.
Hondarribia, alongside Zarautz, Zumarraga, Tolosa, and Lasarte-Oria, will participate in this initiative organized by the Culture and Sports, Sustainability, and Mobility departments of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council. The aim is to bring the atmosphere of this sporting event to various municipalities in the territory, fostering meeting points, celebrations, and coexistence around football.
In Hondarribia, the initiative is jointly promoted with the Hondarribia City Council and also collaborates with Itxaropena Taberna and the Peña Realzale Basque Txuriurdin. The Department of Sustainability will provide merchandising to liven up the day, and the Mobility Department will reinforce public transport services to ensure citizens can comfortably, affordably, safely, and sustainably enjoy the planned activities.
Hondarribia's mayor, Igor Enparan, explained that the proposal originated from the local Peña Realzale and Itxaropena bar, thanking them for their involvement. Ioritz Mendikute, representative of Peña Realzale Basque Txuriurdin, stated that since the semifinal against Athletic, they were clear about wanting to organize a party in Hondarribia. Iván Saenz, from Itxaropena bar, emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the municipality.
On April 18, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, a txaranga will tour the streets to warm up the atmosphere. Afterwards, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM, the entertainment will continue in the fan zone, where pre-match activities and giant screens will be located. The final will kick off at 9:00 PM. In addition to music and entertainment, the fan zones will feature a DJ, inflatables, face painting, and various surprises for families, groups of friends, and fans of all ages to enjoy a festive afternoon.
