The Basque Government has expressed interest in the IAM pavilion project in Irun and does not rule out participating, having proposed the creation of an inter-institutional working group.

The regional executive has assessed the meeting held with Irun City Council, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, and members of CD Bidasoa. During the meeting, the need to define the scope of the project through a joint working group was discussed.
Before making any financial commitments, the government deems it essential to detail the sports-related needs versus multifunctional uses, analyze infrastructure costs, and evaluate potential public and private funding avenues.
Regarding the relocation of Plaiaundi facilities to Txenperenea, the government reaffirmed its commitment to this project. It has proposed that the city council sign a protocol to establish the framework for drafting the basic project.
