The Gipuzkoan squad, thanks to an outstanding performance by goalkeeper Jakub Skrzyniarz and a strong defense, displayed the composure and dominance needed to avoid being entangled by an opponent who arrived in Irun after defeating Granollers.
The first half of the match was divided into two distinct parts. After an initial period where the home team gained a slight advantage, the game became more chaotic, with both sides missing numerous counterattacks. However, Bidasoa, under the guidance of coach Álex Mozas, adjusted their defense and managed to go into halftime with a four-goal lead (17-13).
The defense, with more energy than at the start, better anticipated Villa de Aranda's attacks.
In the second half, Bidasoa solidified their control. Goalkeeper Skrzyniarz saved two seven-meter throws, and the team increased its offensive efficiency. Goals from Esteban Salinas and counterattacks by Cavero extended the lead, reaching a nine-goal advantage within ten minutes (27-18).
Despite Villa de Aranda's attempts to close the gap in the final minutes, Bidasoa secured the victory with a 32-26 scoreline. With this win, Bidasoa enhances its chances of returning to Europe, with three matches remaining in the league season.
