Johan Sorozabal will not compete in the Markina-Xemein Grand Slam, a scoring event for the Jai Alai League, after sustaining an abdominal microtear.

Johan Sorozabal, the forward from Biarritz, has been forced to withdraw from the Markina-Xemein Grand Slam, a key event of the summer in the Jai Alai League circuit. The pelotari suffered an abdominal microtear during the men's cesta punta tournament, the Bilbao Iron Cup. Doctors have advised him to rest until the first week of July.
Replacing him, the company Eraman Jai Alai has selected the pelotari from Toledo, Javier Urrutia. Urrutia was the best second forward in the preliminary phase, reaching the final alongside Argoitia, who is also sidelined with a knee injury.
The pelotari from Santa Cruz del Retamar, based in Markina, has shown good form in the preliminary matches and has experience playing at the Dania fronton. He will debut this Friday alongside Jon Zabala against the pair of Aritz Erkiaga and Atain, who are considered the favorites.
