The match was characterized by the Catalan team's dominance from the outset. Álex Mozas, Bidasoa's coach, acknowledged the clear difference on the court and expressed regret over the team's display: "It's a shame because it slightly tarnishes a very good season."
"They came out with several extra gears. Defensively they were impressive, and whenever we managed to get a shot off, Nielsen had a great game," analyzed the coach from Madrid. Mozas noted a lack of "bravery and hunger" in his players, admitting that despite the team's accumulated fatigue from a demanding quarter-final match, "you can't play a game like the one we played." The coach apologized to the fans, stating, "It's one thing to lose, and another thing to lose like this. We had a 99% chance of losing, but there are ways to lose."
Despite the bitter taste of this final, the overall season assessment places Bidasoa in a privileged position, having achieved its goal of consolidation and securing a European spot. Mozas aimed to put the year's work into perspective, recalling the team's competitive performances in Europe against giants like Flensburg, Kiel, and Montpellier, as well as improving their league performance with three more points than last season.
"It's a shame because it slightly tarnishes a very good season. In the long run, I am very proud: we achieved 42 points in the League, which is a very good score, and we reached the semifinals of the Spanish Cup and the final of the Copa del Rey," the coach asserted, highlighting the merits of a squad that once again represented Irun across Europe.

The disappointment over the lopsided score did not diminish the locker room's gratitude towards the 'yellow tide' of fans who traveled to support the team, including the Bidasotarak fan club. Captain Gorka Nieto spoke to highlight the unconditional backing from the stands.
"It's a pleasure to have such fans; Spanish handball has few fan bases at our level," the center player emphasized. Nieto engaged in self-criticism, acknowledging they were "outplayed on all fronts" and could not be proud of the performance shown, but he made the group's commitment clear until the final whistle: "I want to make it clear that we tried everything. The reason we kept trying until the end was for them. Simply, thank you."
Having achieved their objective on Saturday against Huesca, the Gipuzkoan team will rest in Alicante before traveling by road on Monday morning back to Irun, where they are expected to arrive between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
