Agents from various fields are participating in this project, including those from the health sector (Osakidetza), education (schools and ikastolas), and the social sector (Argia Foundation, associations related to drug addiction, mental health, and other collectives). Public institutions, the associative network, and citizens are also involved.
Art therapy workshops, led by artist Rosana Azar, are a fundamental part of the project. Azar has come from the United States to support this creative process. In these workshops, art becomes a tool for self-expression, sharing experiences, and working through various processes, with the aim of ultimately reflecting them in a collective creation.
On September 29th, Tuesday, one of the most symbolic stages of this journey will take place. They will sail on the schooner Marea Errota from Portugalete to Gorliz. Upon arrival in Gorliz, the vessel will be positioned near the hospital to collect pieces created in the workshops held at the Gorliz Hospital. Subsequently, these pieces will be transferred to a large community mural, alongside the works created by other participants.
The main idea of the sea crossing is for different people and institutions to navigate together, connecting places, experiences, and realities that are part of the same community.
The schedule is as follows:
September 29th
- 14:30: Boarding the Marea Errota schooner in Portugalete, from the pontoon where the estuary-crossing boat is located.
- 15:00: Departure towards Gorliz.
- 17:00: Arrival in Gorliz.
- 17:00-19:00: Anchoring in the bay and collecting material made at Gorliz Hospital.
- 19:00: Return to Portugalete by boat.
