RoboCompetition, which originated as an Erasmus+ project in 2021, has established itself as a leading technical collaboration network in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Over five days, students from Da Vinci (Netherlands), Roskilde Tekniske Skole (Denmark), Kuben (Norway), and Egibide will work together.
The students are organized into mixed and multicultural teams, requiring them to use English as the working language, simulating the reality of global technology companies. This year's technical challenge focuses on logistics and smart warehousing, where participants must design and implement an automated system for sorting and palletizing parts using a collaborative robot.
This format requires participants to communicate in English and collaborate in multicultural work teams, simulating the real environment of global technology companies.
The initiative is supported by Fundación Vital Fundazioa, a key institution in fostering talent in Álava. In addition to the competition, the program includes visits to local companies, allowing European students to gain firsthand knowledge of Álava's industrial fabric. Robotekin and the Provincial Council of Álava also collaborate in the event.
Those wishing to observe the progress of the projects can view the robotic prototypes in operation on Thursday, April 23, between 11:00 and 12:00, at the Jesús Obrero campus (C/ Francia, 32). The event will conclude on Friday, April 24, at 11:30 AM in the assembly hall of Egibide-Molinuevo, where teams will present their final projects to a specialized technical jury.
