Shops and public spaces across Alava are forming a secure network allowing children and adolescents to contact their families when necessary.

Various shops and public spaces in different neighborhoods of Alava have launched a new initiative enabling minors to contact their families or designated contacts in situations of need. Through this campaign, the association Altxa Burua Araba aims to weave a "safe network" for the benefit of children and young people, promoting autonomy during their initial outings.
Participating establishments display a visible sticker with the slogan "Gurea erabil dezakezu / Puedes utilizar el nuestro". If a minor needs to make a call, they can approach one of these shops and ask for assistance. The staff will make the call and, once communication is established, provide the phone for a direct conversation.
Currently, there are collaborating businesses in neighborhoods such as San Martín, Salburua, Arana, Aranbizkarra, and Alde Zaharra. According to the association, over 150 shops in Alava have signed up in recent weeks. Any establishment wishing to join the campaign can contact them via email at [[email protected]](mailto:info@altxaburua.eus).
'Altxa Burua Araba' is composed of families and professionals from the health and education sectors. The association has three main objectives: to delay the provision of smartphones to adolescents, to promote educational centers free from internet-connected phones, and to foster the use of technology based on scientific evidence. This campaign is inspired by similar experiences in other parts of Euskadi.
