These establishments are distinguished by their attractive, reliable, and affordable offerings, creating a celebratory atmosphere without losing their everyday charm. Although recognized for the spring season, these are places that can be visited at any time of the year.
Among the awarded locations is Caserío Marutegi in Asparrena, with over 300 years of history at the foot of Mount Aratz. It offers traditional dishes made with its own produce, such as free-range chickens and local vegetables. In Vitoria, Chapoo, located on Avenida Gasteiz-Vitoria, stands out for its delicious pintxos, quality ingredients, and a famous potato omelet. Similarly, Colmado Los Manueles, on Sancho el Sabio street in Vitoria, surprises with its Cordovan style, Montilla Moriles wines, and other Andalusian spirits, with its special “Torito” preparation being a must-try. Finally, Zerua restaurant in Agurain, in the Llanada Alavesa region, has been serving homemade traditional Basque cuisine in daily menu format for over 20 years.
These new Solete s in Álava are not the only ones in the Basque Country, which now boasts a total of 402. In Bizkaia, additions include Amillena Arrazolako Benta in Atxondo; HDH-Hambre de Hamburguesa, Lucky Baster, and Rocoto in Bilbao; La Llama in Plentzia; and Lukitxene in Leioa. In Gipuzkoa, the list features Alameda in Zumárraga; Ametza in Mutriku; Azpeitxi Berri in Bergara; Katilu in Legazpi; Kolon Txiki in Orio; Mika in Hondarribia; Urbitarte Sagardotegia in Ataun; and Zartagi Ostatu in Baliarrain.
