Changes are underway on Adriano VI street in Vitoria-Gasteiz. A significant commercial space, vacant for nearly three years, is set to welcome new tenants. This is the expansive unit that once housed Echarte appliances, a well-known establishment in the city.
In the spring of 2022, after 31 years of direct and personalized service, Echarte closed its doors. Now, numerous signs in the storefront, proclaiming 'Something's coming,' have piqued the curiosity of the neighborhood, with residents eagerly anticipating a new opening.
However, in this instance, it's more of a relocation. The business in question is Pink, known for its 'low cost' cosmetics, clothing, and accessories. It first opened in June 2023 at Adriano VI number 1, and is now moving to a new 400-square-meter space, providing ample room for display, sales, and storage.
This shift represents a change of pace from the home appliances that were a benchmark in Vitoria-Gasteiz for many years. Echarte also maintained a presence on Judimendi Avenue for 48 years, starting in 1974, where, coincidentally, a textile business—a costume shop—took over in the autumn of 2023.
The reopening of Pink is not the only imminent development on Adriano VI street. The premises it vacates are adjacent to another space soon to open: Teikit, a sushi delivery chain, expanding the city's growing passion for sushi. It has chosen a strategic location, at the corner with Lovaina, featuring a basement level in addition to the street-level floor, where the Ana Moraza beauty center was previously located.
