These unions denounced this Wednesday that for the past fourteen months, since the negotiation table for the fourth Social Intervention agreement in Álava was established, the employers' association Aisa, which comprises 19 associations, foundations, and entities employing about half of the sector's staff, has maintained an "unacceptable" attitude, delaying the presentation of proposals and hindering the possibility of reaching an agreement.
The employers have worsened their proposals at the negotiation table, despite the Álava Provincial Council including 850,000 euros in this year's budget for improving the working conditions of this collective.
So far this year, the sector has already accumulated three strike days and one day of stoppages. The unions have announced this new strike for the day after the next negotiation table meeting, scheduled for April 21.
ELA, LAB, CCOO, and ESK have stated that if the conflict is not resolved, they will consider further strike days in May and "various initiatives to increase pressure and unblock the current situation."
