Man arrested in Vitoria for wielding a knife and assaulting police

A young man was arrested in Vitoria-Gasteiz on April 1 after causing incidents in a shop on Avenida Gasteiz, wielding a knife, and assaulting a police officer.

The events began around 09:00 AM on Wednesday, April 1, when a call to 092 reported a disturbance at a commercial establishment on Avenida Gasteiz. Three individuals, reportedly intoxicated and aggressive, were insulting the security guard.
By the time officers arrived, the three individuals had already left. Based on the description and their direction of escape, police began a search. Shortly after, another alert was received: three men were in the area of Beethoven Street, and one of them was carrying a bladed weapon.
Police quickly located them. Upon seeing the officers, all three fled. During the escape, one of them hid two kitchen knives between two containers. Officers managed to intercept them, but the young man in question became highly agitated and attacked one of the police officers, leading to his immediate arrest.

The 23-year-old man is accused of assault against authority agents, in addition to resistance and serious disobedience.
