Members of the Kantsatzeke mountain group are proposing a May excursion to the Álava mountains. The planned route includes climbing the peaks of San Justi, Arluzea, and San Kristobal. According to the organizers, despite some inclines, the route is not overly steep, with a total elevation gain of 478 meters over a distance of 15 kilometers.
The mountain trek is expected to last between four and five hours. The group will depart from the village of Apilaiz, where the day's steepest climb will be encountered, providing an opportunity to expend some energy. Afterwards, the journey will be relatively gentle, passing along the Txarabitana and Postariaren paths. Participants will have the chance to see a charming small village, ancient chestnut trees, a small dam, and a natural arch formed in the rock.
“"From the mountain peaks, we will see, among other things, the Izki mountains and the villages and landscapes of the Álava Mountain region."
Registration for this route is open until the 21st of this month. Interested individuals can sign up by emailing kantsatzeke@gmail.com or by contacting via WhatsApp at 690 74 00 56. The group will depart from the village square at 08:00 AM, and the cost of the activity is 10 euros. Minors may participate under the responsibility of a parent or guardian.
