Young people from Vitoria-Gasteiz and Álava have until June 30 to submit their cultural projects for the Gazte Sortzaileak grant call, promoted by the Euskera and Youth Services.

This program is aimed at creators between 16 and 35 years old and offers grants of up to 4,000 euros, as well as professional advice throughout the creative process. Proposals must be written entirely in Euskera and have oral expression as their central focus, with the aim of contributing to the promotion of culture in this language.
Two age categories have been established: one for young people aged 16 to 24, and another for those aged 25 to 35. Proposals can be submitted individually or in groups. Projects must aim to contribute to Euskera culture and be linked to oral expression, covering genres such as theater, music, monologue, poetry, bertsolaritza, audiovisuals, or a mix of them. Small-format activities will be prioritized.
Selected projects will have a six-month period for development after grant acceptance, with monitoring by the Municipal Euskera and Youth Services. Candidates must be registered in Vitoria-Gasteiz or Álava. Proposals can be submitted at the San Martín Technical Offices, the Citizen Service Offices in civic centers, or through the electronic headquarters. Applicants under 18 will require authorization from their parents or legal guardians.
The initiative distributes a total of 20,000 euros in grants and is supported by the Provincial Council of Álava. The previous edition of Gazte Sortzaileak saw the participation of 14 young people and 11 projects. The winning works from 2025 will be exhibited between April 18 and September in various locations across Vitoria-Gasteiz. For example, sisters Miren and Itziar Uriarte will present the podcast 'Bi Rotxa' on April 18 at the Baratza hall. On May 17, the Aldabe Civic Center will host the presentation of stories and songs from 'Kutxatu Gasteiz' with Mixa Utrera. On June 20, Jon Garrido will premiere 'Garun Null' at Izaskun Arrue Kulturgunea, and in September, Laura Meabe's monologue 'Bizitza baten koplak' will be performed. Iker Clavero's album 'Doluak' is also expected soon.
