Alavés fans to relive Dortmund final with events from May 18-23

The club and its supporters will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the UEFA Cup final with exhibitions and tributes.

Fans of Deportivo Alavés will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the historic 2001 UEFA Cup final in Dortmund with a week of events and tributes from May 18th to 23rd.

Iraultza1921 and Deportivo Alavés have organized a series of events between May 18th and 23rd to remember the historic UEFA Cup final played in Dortmund. The program includes exhibitions, meetings with protagonists from that season, and a special tribute in Mendizorrotza.
Throughout the week, the Mendizorrotza stadium will host the exhibition "Nuestros murales, nuestra historia" (Our murals, our history), a visual journey through key moments of alavesismo. On Friday, May 22nd, the Arabako Garrasia venue will present a commemorative jersey created for the 25th anniversary of Dortmund. The event will feature players from the 2000/01 season, along with an exhibition of historical jerseys, the final ball, and a screening of the match against Liverpool.
Additionally, at the Baskonia-Alavés Store, several Dortmund protagonists will meet fans and tour the exhibition dedicated to the final. On Saturday, May 23rd, the VIP lounge at Mendizorrotza will bring together members of the team that played in the European final and Emilio Quílez, a former member of the technical staff. The morning will also include an exhibition of UEFA photographs and jerseys, and the presentation of the video 'Dortmund, 25 years'.
Throughout Saturday, Mendizorrotza will transform into a large fan zone under the slogan "Reviving Dortmund 25 years ago". The area will feature a photo exhibition, a collector's corner, a photocall, workshops, games, and musical performances by Azken Erromantikoak and M. Ravarino, among other activities.
In the afternoon, emotional moments will unfold, including the descent of Celedón, the inauguration of a statue honoring all alavesistas, and the "Beti Gurekin" (Always With Us) tribute. There will also be performances by txalaparta, bertsolaris, and dantzaris, and the team's bus will be welcomed at Mendizorrotza.
Before the match, the excitement will continue inside the stadium. Fans will have the opportunity to welcome the team bus, and a tribute will be paid to the 2000/01 squad. Following this, a special tifo prepared by the supporters will be displayed, and at 9:00 PM, the match between Deportivo Alavés and Rayo Vallecano will kick off.
