Baskonia will bid farewell to the EuroLeague season at home, facing Maccabi this Tuesday at 9:00 PM at the Buesa Arena, in a match played behind closed doors and without any qualifying implications for the Vitoria team.

Baskonia will conclude its EuroLeague home campaign for the 2025-26 season this Tuesday at 9:00 PM, hosting Maccabi. This game, similar to the one two weeks ago against Hapoel Tel Aviv, will be played behind closed doors, an unpopular measure that fans have nonetheless accepted.
While Baskonia has nothing at stake in terms of classification, the match holds special significance for Maccabi. The Israeli team currently sits in eleventh position and is fighting hard to secure a spot in the play-in phase, which leads to the quarterfinals. For Paolo Galbiati's squad, which is in 18th place after recent victories against Hapoel and Real Madrid, the objective will be to reduce the minutes played by their most fatigued players and focus on the ACB league, aiming to finish as high as possible and prepare for the decisive phase in the best way.
Historically, games between these two teams are often high-voltage affairs with high scores, thanks to the offensive and dynamic style both teams promote. In their first encounter this season, played in November, Maccabi won 89-83 in an intense game decided in the final moments. However, the Buesa Arena has traditionally been a fortress for Baskonia, who even achieved a historic 116-87 victory over the Israelis in the 2022-23 season.
The parity between the two teams is reflected in their last five official matches, with three victories for Maccabi and two for Baskonia. The key usually lies in both teams' ability to maintain their outside shooting accuracy and control the pace of possession. The most painful precedent for the Vitoria team was the 2024 play-in, where the Israelis swept Baskonia 113-85.
Individually, the match will feature several players that Galbiati's defense will need to contain: Lonnie Walker IV, a former NBA player and Maccabi's top scorer, is capable of breaking the game open with his outside shooting or powerful drives. Jaylen Hoard and Roman Sorkin also stand out for the Israeli team. The biggest draw of the evening for Baskonia will be the potential return of Markus Howard. As Galbiati explained after the victory in Manresa, the New Jersey guard has recovered from the muscle discomfort that kept him out of recent league games and could play some minutes.
