The Provincial Council of Álava has awarded Iberdrola Clientes SAU the contract for electricity supply for the rest of 2026 and 2027.

The Foral Government Council of Álava has approved the award to the company Iberdrola Clientes SAU of the electricity supply contract for the remainder of 2026 and 2027 to the General Administration of the Provincial Council of Álava for a maximum amount of 2,234,554 euros.
As reported by the Deputy General of Álava, Ramiro González, this award originates from the framework agreement for the electricity supply contract of the Foral Contracting Center from last March, which includes both the Provincial Council and about fifty town councils, administrative boards, foundations, and public companies in the Historical Territory.
This framework agreement guarantees the supply of electricity from renewable sources or high-efficiency cogeneration, as well as the application of a series of tariffs and coefficients to determine the price of electricity.
The Department of Employment, Commerce, Tourism, and Foral Administration of the Provincial Council launched the Foral Contracting Center in 2016, and this entity has since tendered and awarded various supply contracts for electricity, natural gas, diesel, and pellets, achieving "significant savings".
