Vitoria-Gasteiz is hosting the 11th Coffee Fortnight from October 3rd to 18th, with the participation of 78 establishments and a total of 91 different coffee offerings. The initiative will once again make coffee the protagonist in the city's hospitality, commerce, and service businesses.
The 11th Coffee Fortnight, organized by Gasteiz On, is sponsored by the Commerce Department of the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, with the collaboration of Kutxabank and the participation of Cafés La Brasileña, Cafés Foronda, and Kaiku.
María Nanclares, Councilor for Economic Promotion, Employment, Commerce, and Tourism, emphasized the event's capacity to energize the hospitality and commercial sectors, as well as generate economic activity in local industries linked to coffee, highlighting its enjoyment and health benefits.
This year's edition brings together 53 hospitality establishments and 26 commercial and service businesses, which have prepared a wide variety of coffee-themed offerings. The program includes 34 options of coffee paired with artisanal sweets, 29 "signature coffees", 22 coffee promotions, and 7 activities.
The initiative maintains its commitment to bringing coffee culture closer to the public while creating new opportunities for Vitoria-Gasteiz's hospitality, commerce, and services. Proposals range from traditional formulas to unique creations and special promotions.
In the ‘Café + dulce artesano’ route, 34 establishments will offer different combinations for 3.50 euros. Meanwhile, in the ‘Cafés de autor’ proposal, 29 establishments have prepared original creations.
The Fortnight will also feature 22 special promotions, including discounts, coffee-based products, or free coffees associated with purchases.
The program includes seven coffee-related activities: two specifically for professionals and five open to the general public. Among the professional offerings, Cafés La Brasileña will host a workshop on ‘Espresso + Latte Art’, and Cafés Foronda will organize the ‘Coffee Mixology Workshop’, led by professional barista Honorio García.
Activities for the general public include 'Coffee at Home: Italian Moka Pot, Tricks and Recipes' at the E’jazz café (by Cafés Foronda), 'Coffee Knowledge + Blind Tasting' (by Cafés La Brasileña), 'Coffee Incense' workshop (by Imaro), 'Miniature Coffee' painting workshop (by Heretica Store), and 'Creative Coffee' activity (by Kreatiba Deia), using engraving and 3D printing techniques.
This initiative aims to extend the prominence of coffee beyond the cup, proposing activities related to its preparation, tasting, mixology, creativity, and artisanal production, while highlighting the offerings of participating establishments in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
