Tomorrow, August 28th, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council is observing World Turner Syndrome Day. Following a request from the Spanish Federation of Turner Syndrome (FESTURNER), the facade of the City Hall will be illuminated in fuchsia. The aim is to increase public awareness and sensitivity regarding this rare disease.
Turner syndrome is a disorder that affects only females and can lead to various medical and developmental issues, such as short stature, lack of ovarian development, and heart defects. It occurs in approximately one out of every 2,500 women. Affected girls and women require ongoing medical care from various specialists.
Through this action, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council expresses its support for individuals affected by this condition.
