The neighborhood festivals in Vitoria-Gasteiz for 2026 are starting to outline their schedule. The first planned event will be in Abetxuko, from May 1st to 3rd, followed by weeks of celebrations across various parts of the city.
The majority of the calendar will once again be concentrated in June, which is currently the month with the most neighborhood festivals planned. During these weeks, programs will take place in Coronación, Arana, Txagorritxu, Adurtza, Ibai-Lakua, Santa Lucía-Errekatxiki, Judimendi, Arriaga, Casco Viejo, Aranbizkarra, and Salburua.
Neighborhood festivals typically feature well-known activities for residents each year, such as open-air dances, big-headed figures, popular championships, fairground rides, communal meals, and proposals for all ages.
In addition to the neighborhoods with tentative or confirmed dates, there are others that usually hold their festivals at different times of the year, although not all specific dates for 2026 have been released yet. These include neighborhoods like Armentia or Desamparados, which typically schedule their programs between April and May. Events for Ariznabarra and Zaramaga, initially planned for September, and those for the Casco Viejo, are also awaiting exact confirmation.
While each committee organizes its own program, the neighborhood festivals in Vitoria-Gasteiz generally maintain a common base with activities designed for various audiences. It is common to find open-air dances, fanfares and parades, big-headed figures, communal meals, children's activities, championships and games, fairground rides, and concerts and performances.
