Vitoria-Gasteiz is on the verge of the San Prudencio long weekend, which will fill the city with cultural and festive activities from April 24th to 26th. The celebrations will commence with the opening speech by comic writer Antonio Altarriba in the Plaza de la Provincia, marking the start of the San Prudencio and Nuestra Señora de Estíbaliz Festivities 2026. The event will conclude with a tribute concert to Bruno Mars.
Throughout this weekend, the city's cultural agenda will offer a wide range of options. On Friday, April 24th, the Ignacio Aldecoa Cultural Center will host a session of «El club del LP» dedicated to The Pretenders. The Jesús Ibáñez de Matauco Theater will present the play «The Jury Experience: Muerte por IA», and the School of Arts and Crafts will screen the short film «ON». The most notable cultural inauguration will be Mawa Ordúñez's exhibition «Gramática» at the Montehermoso Cultural Center, which can be visited until June 21st.
In the musical sphere, the Vitoria-Gasteiz Municipal Txistularis Band will offer a dantzaldia at the Gasteiz Antzokia. For rock enthusiasts, DEF CON DOS alongside Bourbon Kings will perform at Sala Jimmy Jazz, The Big Two will pay tribute to Queen and Bon Jovi at Urban Rock Concept, and Zea Mays will play at the Gaztetxea. Regarding theater, Tanttaka Teatroa will present «Sabes que las flores de plástico nunca han vivido, ¿verdad?» at Arkabia.
On Saturday, April 25th, there will be plans for the whole family. The Montehermoso Cultural Center will host a session of the program «familiak elkARTzen 2026: ‘HARRI, ORRI…’», and the Hegoalde Civic Center will offer a guided tour on the toponymy of Gasteiz. In the afternoon, the Medieval Quarter will be the setting for a literary guided tour based on Eva García Sáenz de Urturi's trilogy: «El silencio de la ciudad blanca».
The musical offerings will include singer-songwriter Queralt Lahoz at Arkabia, and The Brontes performing at Lagrange Taberna. Urban Rock Concept will feature Lándevir and Ars Amandi, while Sala Jimmy Jazz will host the Extremoduro tribute «Pedrá». At the Gaztetxea, White Carters and Kumbialari will perform.
Sunday, April 26th, will be the last day to enjoy Stellar Circus's contemporary circus «Artifice» installed in Mendizabala. Cines Florida will repeat the screening of «Maracuda». Additionally, numerous exhibitions will remain open, including those at the Artium Museoa and the Montehermoso Cultural Center, featuring works such as «Gramática» by Mawa Ordúñez and «Encontrarse las partes» by Nerea Gundín.
