The Old Town of Vitoria-Gasteiz will transform into a space to showcase young creative talent this weekend, with the Gazte Plaza festival offering music, theater, and cinema.

Vitoria-Gasteiz is set to host a weekend full of cultural activities from April 17th to 19th, with the Gazte Plaza festival taking center stage. This event aims to highlight youth creation, offering a variety of proposals throughout the Old Town.
On Saturday, April 18th, Vitoria-Gasteiz's Old Town will become a large open-air cultural space with Gazte Plaza 2026. Nearly twenty free activities have been organized to promote young talent. The program will be divided into three main areas, along with several itinerant proposals.
The Arnastu eta Sortu area, located in the Plaza del Machete, will be open from 11:00 to 21:00. It will feature a creative market with musical ambiance and workshops open to the public. Throughout the day, there will be DJ sessions, a collaborative mural, and participatory activities such as experimental printing, ceramics, and fanzine creation.
The Mugitu area, in the Plaza de Santa María, will operate from 12:00 to 22:00, concentrating on performing arts and audiovisual proposals. The program includes the performance Modo avión, a Royal Battle, and an LGTBI-themed film gathering. At 20:00, two works linked to Álava will be screened: the short film Precoz and the documentary Baaldo, una emergencia pop. The latter follows the creative process of a Mallorcan artist, showcasing the reality and precariousness of an emerging artist from the LGTBIQ+ community. The project involved a technical team with professionals linked to Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The Entzun area, in the Plaza de la Burullería, will be dedicated to live music from 11:00 to 23:00. There will be concerts, singer-songwriters, classical music, Basque music, and a jam session to close the day. Additionally, itinerant activities such as batukada, txistulari parades, street theater, and photography will take place along Fray Zacarías Martínez and Santa María streets. In case of rain, part of the program will be moved to the Aldabe and El Campillo civic centers.
Beyond Gazte Plaza, the weekend will offer a full agenda at various locations across Vitoria-Gasteiz. Friday will feature theater, music, and book presentations, while Sunday will focus on theater, children's activities, and dance. Circuses, exhibitions, and various festivals and cycles will also be on display throughout the three days.
