This initiative is part of the approved modifications to the Workforce Planning. The 25 new officer positions will be open to free competition and will join the seventh joint call of the Basque Police and Emergency Services Academy of Arkaute. The deputy commissioner position will be filled through an internal promotion process.
“"These additions allow us to advance in the municipal commitment to create 50 new positions during this legislative term to enhance security in the city."
The Local Government Board has also approved the procurement of four vehicles for the police force, with a budget slightly exceeding 171,000 euros. Two of these vehicles will be plug-in hybrids, while the other two will run on gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas. The City Council frames this purchase as part of the progressive renewal of the police fleet with more sustainable vehicles.
