The call for entries was published today in the Official Gazette of Álava (BOTHA) and is open to all individuals, regardless of their nationality or place of residence. Proposals can be submitted starting from the 13th of this month.
Following the path initiated last year, the competition will consist of three phases. In the first phase, participants must submit a digital dossier containing between three and five works, of which at least two must be posters. The jury will evaluate the style and artistic quality of these submissions.
From these candidacies, the jury will select five finalists. In the second phase, the five chosen individuals will be required to create a poster that reflects the spirit of the Virgen Blanca Festivities. Each finalist will receive a remuneration of 500 euros. In the third phase, the jury will select the winning poster from the five finalist works.
The author of the winning poster will receive a total prize of 2,500 euros: 2,000 for the poster itself, in addition to the 500 euros received for being a finalist.
The poster must include texts in both Basque and Spanish, prioritizing Basque, and specify the dates of the festivities: from August 4 to 9, 2026. The City Council will announce the five finalists on May 15, and the winning poster will be revealed on June 12.
